  Overactive Sweating

There are several ways to address overactive sweating issues. When you come to Hummingbird, our knowledgeable medical Estheticians will review your issues and help to guide you in your treatment decision path. A healthy balanced approach always works the best. The first step in this journey is:

Active treatment: Many individuals have already tried the stronger anti-perspirants and prescription applications (i.e. Dry-sol, etc). If you haven't visited your primary care physician, we do recommend that you book an appointment for a medical review with them

Therapeutic Botox injections: For severe localized sweating (i.e. arm pits, hands), Botox can be injected using a tiny micro-needle. The sweating is often diminished or halted for 3-12 months in most people with a single treatment. The treatment process if very simple and only requires 15-20 minutes. People can return to work or activities immediately after their procedure. This is an extremely safe procedure, with side effects almost non-existent. It takes a few days to a week for the Botox to start working. The treatment is repeated as the sweating gradually returns. The Botox component of this treatment is often covered by many drug plans. A separate injection fee is payable by the patient, but is often claimable on income tax as a medical expense.
